21/23 OZ HEAVY WEIGHT EDITION

For this Heavy Weight Edition we use our signature 8.25" cut for the fit. Our 8.25" cut has a clean slim straight fit. It will give a slightly slim silhouette with the comfort of regular straight cut. It is a perfect cut for your daily wear. For the heavy weight edition, we made the rise area slightly longer, especially in the back rise area, comparing to the previous 8.25" cut to make it more comfortable to wear.

We got this beautiful 21 ounces true indigo denim from Japan. It is an unsanforized denim. It starts as a rigid 21 ounces denim and once after the intial soak/wash it will become approximately 23 ounces. So, for you who in need for an extra heavy weight and heavy duty jeans, this is the very right pair. The denim texture is quite hairy, but still within the reasonable amounts. The rigidness and the stiffness of these denim surely doesn`t need to be questioned.

Every selvedge denim we use is made on the old style shuttle looms. Every fabric that is woven using shuttle looms, use a single continuous threads to produce a tighter, heavier and more durable fabric.

We use red hickory fabric for the pocket lining, a very strong and thick fabric. For the hardware, we use Japan made 100% copper washer - burr rivets and "Laurel Leaf" iron plated doughnut button, also made in Japan. The laurel leaf is a symbol of peace, widely used to symbolize the triumph of the human spirit. Levi`s used such emblem as their waistband button during the world war II.

The leather patch is veg tanned US horse hide. It varies in thickness, 6-7 ounces in average. Vegetable tanned leather is made in a very interesting and natural way. After the leather skins are cleaned and prepared they are tanned with a special bark and juices from trees to create a beautiful natural color.
