7.5" CUT - 12.5
OZ BROKEN TWILL CONE
Our 7.5" cut is a
basic slim cut. It is very suitable for someone who looking for a real slim
silhouette cut. It has a slightly lower rise comparing to our other cuts.
Although it has a slim cut, we surely do not override the aspect of comfort.
We`re quite lucky bumped up with this beautiful broken twill selvedge denim fabric, produced by White Oak Cone Mills, US. It has a really likable texture all over it. A bit streaky, a bit hairy, with a soft hand feeling. And to add more feature in the list, this is a dead stock fabric.
Up until the mid 1960′s, denim was woven towards the left or right hand side (left hand twill and right hand twill) causing the denim legs to literally twist after being washed.
Broken twill was designed to combat the twisting effect that was a characteristic regular twill. Instead of the twill running to the right or left, broken twill denim contains no distinct direction of weave. The weave is instead alternated right and left, some might say a zig-zag pattern. By going on both directions, the tension in the yarns is balanced in Broken Twill. Wrangler made the first broken twill jeans in 1964 (13MWZ model).
We use 12 ounces red hickory from Okayama for the pocket lining, a very strong and thick fabric. For the hardware, we use Japan made 100% copper washer - burr rivets and "Laurel Leaf" iron plated doughnut button, also made in Japan. The laurel leaf is a symbol of peace, widely used to symbolize the triumph of the human spirit. Levi`s used such emblem as their waistband button during the world war II. We still have the crotch rivet detail. Making the crotch area stronger and very suitable for hard wear.
The leather patch is veg tanned US horse hide. It varies in thickness, 6-7 ounces in average. Vegetable tanned leather is made in a very interesting and natural way. After the leather skins are cleaned and prepared they are tanned with a special bark and juices from trees to create a beautiful natural color.
